  • Great Southern Mining commenced a 1,300-metre diamond drilling programme at its Mt Dillon prospect in Queensland.
  • Funding for the exploration programme is provided by partner Gold Fields under an earn-in agreement worth up to $15 million.
  • The drilling programme aims to test shallow geophysical targets beneath a preserved lithocap structure.

Great Southern Mining (ASX:GSN) has commenced an initial 1,300-metre diamond drilling programme at its Mt Dillon prospect in Queensland.

The campaign follows geophysical surveys conducted in early 2025 that identified a chargeability anomaly below the surface.

"This is an exciting chapter for the Edinburgh Park Project, with Mt Dillon representing the highest-priority target defined to date," said Great Southern Mining Managing Director Matthew Keane.

Gold Fields' subsidiary G-Ex Resources is funding the programme under an agreement to spend $15 million for a 75% interest.

Following the announcement, the Great Southern Mining share price was unchanged at $0.02.

The Edinburgh Park project covers 1,447km2 within a mineral-rich corridor in northern Queensland.

Great Southern also holds active gold and base metals exploration projects across Western Australia.
