GenusPlus secures $160M Victorian battery contract

• GenusPlus Group secured an $160 million contract to construct a major battery energy storage system in Victoria.
• Following the announcement, the GenusPlus Group share price was down at $8.23.
• The agreement expands the contractor's portfolio of large-scale renewable infrastructure assets across Australia.

GenusPlus Group (ASX:GNP) secured an $160 million contract to construct a 400 MW / 1.86 GWh battery energy storage system in Victoria.

The agreement comes after the infrastructure services provider won an $110 million battery project contract in South Australia earlier this year.

"This project is another significant milestone for Genus and demonstrates the strength of our capabilities in delivering the critical infrastructure required to support Australia’s energy transition," said GenusPlus Group Managing Director David Riches.

Under the scope of work, the group will deliver a balance of plant civil, structural, and high-voltage connection assets and control systems.

Following the announcement, the GenusPlus Group share price was down at $8.23.

Construction at the Wodonga facility is scheduled for completion by late 2028.

The contractor continues to build out its presence across power network, telecommunication, and renewable energy storage projects nationwide.
