Galan Lithium (ASX:GLN) completed the Phase 1 construction at its flagship Hombre Muerto West Project in Argentina.
The critical development marks a transformative shift for the company as it moves from a pure exploration and development phase into the ranks of active lithium producers.
With the construction of the initial evaporation ponds and supporting infrastructure now finalised, the project remains firmly on track to achieve its first production of high-grade lithium chloride concentrate.
The completion of this phase is a testament to the engineering precision and logistical coordination managed by the Perth-based team.
The HMW Project, situated within the world-renowned "Lithium Triangle," is designed to leverage high-grade brine and low impurity profiles, ensuring a competitive cost structure.
The aerial footage released by the company showcases the expansive pond system, which is already beginning to harness solar energy for the natural evaporation process.
"Reaching the end of Phase 1 construction is a watershed moment for Galan," the company stated. "Our focus now pivots to the commissioning phase and the steady ramp-up of production volumes."
In addition to the physical works, Galan continues to prioritise environmental stewardship and community engagement in the Catamarca Province.
The company is already looking toward Phase 2 expansions to increase its annual output.
