Fletcher Building (ASX:FBU) posted an EBIT from continuing operations before significant items of NZ$414 million alongside net earnings of NZ$228 million for the 2026 financial year.
The performance contrasts sharply with the previous financial year, which saw a net loss and lower operating cash inflows.
EPS came to 21.2 NZ cents against a 41.4-cent loss in FY25. Net cash from operating activities reached NZ$715 million, up from NZ$501 million in FY25.
"Our core manufacturing divisions performed well in a difficult trading environment, and a sustained focus on operational and capital discipline saw us materially improve net cash from operating activities for the year," said Fletcher Building Managing Director & CEO Andrew Reding.
The firm reduced its net debt to NZ$637 million and reported operating cash inflows of NZ$715 million, while the board chose not to declare a dividend.
Following the announcement, the Fletcher Building share price was up at $3.24.
Fletcher Building said the economic, political and geopolitical backdrop remains uncertain and is expected to weigh on performance in the first half of FY27.
The group previously divested its construction division and other non-core operating units to streamline its business model.
