First Graphene (ASX:FGR) completed a production trial for graphene-enhanced cement roof tiles.

Partnering with the United Kingdom’s largest precast concrete manufacturer, FP McCann, the five-month project produced over 10,000 tiles at the Cadeby manufacturing facility.

The trial utilised 40 tonnes of PureGRAPH-enhanced cement, developed alongside the Breedon Group, to rigorously test the material’s quality, efficiency, and carbon reduction potential.

By incorporating graphene, the production process achieved a cradle-to-gate CO₂ reduction of up to 14%.

Furthermore, the trial demonstrated that the graphene-enhanced CEM-II cement could match the strength of traditional CEM-I while requiring a 26% lower cement-to-concrete ratio.

Following the results, the tiles are slated for immediate use in new buildings at the Cadeby site, marking the transition from laboratory success to real-world application.

As the UK government pledges to deliver over one million sustainable homes in the next three years, this innovation arrives at a critical juncture.

First Graphene has already commenced discussions with industry partners to scale the technology, aiming to penetrate the US$7.6 billion global cement roof tile market.

At the time of reporting, First Graphene’s share price was $0.068.
