Evion Group identifies target zone at Carp Fluorspar Project

  • Evion Group identified a target zone outside historic workings at its Carp Fluorspar Project in Nevada.
  • The exploration update follows previous rock chip sampling that verified high grades at the property.
  • The field programme aims to locate potential new fluorspar deposits across the company's 493-hectare holding.

Evion Group (ASX:EVG) identified a 200m by 200m target zone located 300m southwest of historic workings at its Carp Fluorspar Project.

The discovery follows maiden field mapping that recorded barite-fluorite pathfinder alteration and hydrothermal brecciation in an area with no evidence of prior mining.

Geological mapping interpreted the prospect as being centred on two northwest-southeast trending structures defined across 200m of strike.

A total of 41 rock chip samples, including 10 from the new target area, were submitted for laboratory analysis with assay results expected within weeks.

Following the announcement, the Evion Group share price was unchanged at $0.021.

The company stated that Phase 2 exploration will include a drone magnetic survey and further surface geochemistry targeted for completion by year-end.

Evion Group holds 39 unpatented lode claims across 493 hectares in Nevada's Viola Mining District, where the historic South Pit produced 44,900 tonnes of high-grade fluorspar between 1958 and 1971.
