Australian counter-drone developer DroneShield (ASX:DRO) secured a $24.9 million contract to support the US Department of War’s Joint Interagency Task Force 401.

The agreement features an initial value of $19.3 million, with an optional $5.6 million allocated for end-user options spanning a five-year period.

At least $10 million of the initial funding is projected as committed revenue for FY26, with the remainder recognised in FY27.

Under the terms of the deal, DroneShield will deliver mobile and fixed-site counter-drone solutions, comprising hardware, subscriptions, warranties, and services.

Deliveries from existing production lines are scheduled throughout 2026 and 2027.

The contract mandates the integration of third-party interoperable solutions, with standard payments expected between late 2026 and mid-2027.

DroneShield CEO Angus Bean stated that the contract underscores a growing global requirement for rapid-deployment, persistent airspace security across complex environments.

DroneShield US President Ray Fitzgerald highlighted the achievement as a pivotal milestone that reinforces international confidence in the company's ability to deliver operationally relevant capabilities at scale.

As JIATF-401 serves as a premier organisation synchronising counter-UAS efforts across the Joint Force, this partnership highlights DroneShield’s expanding momentum in the US defence market.

At the time of reporting, DroneShield’s share price was $3.20.
