Australian health-tech leader dorsaVi (ASX:DVL) announced the development of on-sensor intelligence for its suite of FDA and TGA-cleared wearable sensors.

The advancement, delivered through the V6.5 firmware framework, introduces embedded processing and firmware enhancements that allow for data analytics and signal interpretation to occur directly on the device.

By processing information at the point of capture, dorsaVi effectively reduces latency and improves responsiveness, providing a critical advantage for real-time applications in clinical, workplace, and high-performance sporting environments.

The V6.5 upgrade is a pivotal milestone in the company’s technological roadmap, establishing the foundation for neuromorphic-capable architectures and the future integration of native RRAM.

The upgrade is delivered via firmware to existing hardware, allowing current clients—including Select Medical and the SEROMA clinical study—to access enhanced capabilities without the need for equipment replacement.

Beyond human movement, dorsaVi is exploring the integration of this validated movement data into collaborative robot (cobot) systems.

By acting as a proprioceptive input layer, the technology could facilitate real-time human movement awareness in autonomous systems.

The shift toward on-device inference aligns with emerging global regulatory trends that emphasise validated, decentralised AI processing.
