Culpeo Minerals (ASX:CPO) has commenced a maiden four-hole, 2,000-metre diamond drilling programme at the Vista Montana prospect within its Lana Corina Project in Chile.

The initial exploration work follows previous drilling at Lana Corina that delivered mineralised copper intersections, including 454m at 0.96% copper equivalent from 90m.

“We are delighted to have commenced the maiden diamond drilling at Vista Montana, which has the potential to materially expand the Lana Corina discovery, and with the recently commenced IP survey, will help refine existing targets and potentially identify new targets along this highly prospective >3km structural corridor,” said Culpeo Minerals Non-Executive Chair Geoff McNamara.

The company also initiated ground-geophysical induced polarisation surveys to assist target generation along the project's prospective three-kilometre-long structural corridor.

The drilling programme is designed to test the continuity and scale of the broader mineralised copper system.

Following the announcement, the Culpeo Minerals share price was unchanged at $0.019.

Culpeo Minerals operates as an Australian exploration company focused on copper discoveries within key mineral belts in Chile.

The explorer holds exploration assets across South America, including the Lana Corina, Fortuna, and Lasana projects.
