Coinbase secures licence for Australian market expansion

Cryptocurrency giant Coinbase is set to broaden its footprint in the Australian market after its local subsidiary successfully secured an Australian Financial Services Licence from the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.
Following the regulatory approval, the company announced via social media that it will initially offer crypto and equity perpetuals to local users, with plans to introduce futures and options trading shortly thereafter.

The move marks a major evolution for the platform as it transitions towards an "Everything Exchange" model, intending to challenge traditional financial institutions by integrating stock trading, payments, and conventional finance products directly into its existing digital asset ecosystem.
