Cleo Diagnostics starts screening test development
- Cleo Diagnostics began prototype development for a multi-biomarker blood test targeting a $150 billion global ovarian cancer screening market.
- Initial proof-of-concept screening test data is scheduled for release early next quarter.
- The screening programme runs parallel to the primary pre-surgical test targeting FDA submission in early 2027.
Ovarian cancer diagnostics company Cleo Diagnostics (ASX:COV) has commenced prototype development of a multi-biomarker blood test targeting a global addressable market valued at $150 billion.
The news marks an expansion beyond the company's initial focus on a $1.6 billion near-term pre-surgical triage entry point.
The expansion work operates as an independent stream while the current commercial focus remains on advancing the core triage asset.
Cleo Diagnostics stated that it aims to finalise the test panel architecture by the end of 2026 while leveraging existing clinical datasets.
The market expansion leverages prior investments that established access to international biobanks, including University College London's UKCTOCS collection.
Following the announcement, the Cleo Diagnostics share price was down at $0.30.
The medical technology firm focuses on developing non-invasive blood tests for detecting early-stage ovarian cancer in asymptomatic women.
