Randstad CEO on AI & Future of Work

Sander van 't Noordende, CEO of recruitment giant Randstad, says their base case is that 7-8% of jobs will be replaced by artificial intelligence over the next 5 to 10 years. However, Van 't Noordende says he does not see the "doomsday scenario" that some predict. In an interview on "The Pulse with Francine Lacqua" on May 21, van 't Noordende said AI will be a "wave" over the next decade, but also presents many opportunities, enabling many workers to be more productive, and requires massive infrastructure.

Samsung Workers to Go Ahead With Strike

Talks between Samsung Electronics and its largest labor union broke down, raising the prospect of a workers' strike. A general work stoppage will go ahead on Thursday, labor leader Choi Seung-ho told reporters. The collapse in negotiations puts the global technology supply chain at risk because Samsung is the world's biggest supplier of the chips that go into devices from data center servers to smartphones and electric vehicles. Bloomberg's Yoolim Lee reports.

UniCredit Plan Would Put Lot of Revenue at Risk, Orlopp Says
