BlueScope Steel (ASX:BSL) appointed Robin Davies as CEO of its Australian and New Zealand businesses.
Davies is set to assume the role on July 1. Based in New South Wales, he will oversee a portfolio comprising over 8,500 employees, annual revenues exceeding $7 billion, and a production capacity of 3.7 million tonnes of steel.
Davies, a 20-year veteran of the company, currently serves as the Chief Executive of New Zealand & Pacific Islands.
During his tenure, he notably steered the New Zealand operations through a landmark transition to Electric Arc Furnace steel production, bolstering the region's long-term sustainability.
Archibald highlighted that this consolidation of leadership comes at a pivotal moment as BlueScope shifts from heavy capital expenditure to operational execution.
In Australia, the reline of the Port Kembla blast furnace and the start-up of a new Metal Coating Line in Western Sydney are nearing completion. Meanwhile, the New Zealand EAF Project is entering its commissioning phase.
Davies will succeed Gerald Cornelius, who has served as Interim CEO of Australian Steel Products since late 2025.
