  • Beam Communications reported a net profit after tax of $14.3 million for the 2026 financial year alongside a $1.2 million unfranked dividend.
  • Following the announcement, the share price rose in trading as investors reacted to the returning profitability and higher cash balance.
  • The company stated that the financial outcome was driven by continuing operations, cost-optimisation initiatives, and completed Iridium orders.

Beam Communications (ASX:BCC) posted a net profit after tax of $14.2 million for the financial year ended June 30, reversing a net loss of $13.5 million from the prior year.

The stronger financial result contrasted sharply with the previous year's loss, driven by improved performance in continuing operations and the completion of major equipment orders.

"Following the $12.1 million capital return earlier this year, we are pleased that the improved performance of our continuing business has put Beam in a position to pay a dividend to shareholders," said Beam Communications Managing Director Michael Capocchi.

The business generated total ordinary revenue of $18.2 million during the period, largely due to the absence of low-margin Zoleo device sales and the ZOLEO royalty stream and, to a lesser extent, softer sales of Beam’s other equipment.

The company also doubled its cash and equivalents balance to $3.7 million by the end of June.

Following the announcement, the Beam Communications share price was up at $0.05.

Beam declared a one-off unfranked dividend of 1.4 cents per share.

The company specialises in designing and distributing satellite, cellular, and dual-mode equipment applications and services.
