Barys Resources secures gold licence in Kazakhstan

Share

Barys Resources (ASX:BRY) announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Steppe Rock Resources, has been granted a premier exploration licence in Kazakhstan.

The tenement, designated 4238-EL, spans a substantial 165 square kilometres within the highly prospective North Balkhash region.

The acquisition marks Barys’ inaugural entry into the Kazakhstani market, following an intensive six-month large-scale gold reconnaissance programme aimed at identifying untapped mineral wealth in Central Asia.

The tenement is situated in a geological "sweet spot", characterised by volcanic rocks and intrusive structures that experts deem highly favourable for epithermal gold mineralisation.

The assessment is bolstered by the presence of operational gold mines within a 50-kilometre radius, confirming the region’s established reputation for hosting high-level deposits.

While Kazakhstan is already a global leader in uranium and an oil producer, Barys is looking to capitalise on the nation’s under-explored gold potential.

Much of the region has seen minimal modern exploration since 1991, leaving a wealth of Soviet-era geological data ripe for re-evaluation using contemporary geophysical modelling.

Barys’ technical team plans to leverage their extensive experience in epithermal systems to convert this historical data into modern discoveries.
