Barton Gold completes gravity survey at Challenger gold mine

Barton Gold (ASX:BGD) has completed a high-resolution airborne gravity survey over the northern portion of Exploration License 6502, which hosts the Challenger Gold Mine in South Australia.

The survey, conducted by Xcalibur Smart Mapping, covered a total of 3,239 line-kilometers, with data analysis set to begin shortly.

The survey targeted gravity anomalies that may indicate structures analogous to the high-grade quartz vein lodes that historically produced 1.2 million ounces of gold at Challenger.

Barton Managing Director Alexander Scanlon noted that the mine was developed during a period of historically low gold prices, which prioritised development over exploration.

He added that the new high-resolution survey could help identify near-mine structural targets that, combined with existing infrastructure, could represent significant value.

Scanlon also thanked Xcalibur Smart Mapping for their efficient and successful execution of the survey program.
