Ethical wealth manager Australian Ethical Investment (ASX:AEF) has announced that Chair Steve Gibbs will retire from the board by June 30, 2027, concluding a 14-year tenure as part of an ongoing board renewal process.

The announcement marks a major milestone for the business, following a period where funds under management expanded from $700 million to $14.5 billion and the business secured a position in the ASX 300 index.

"It has been a privilege to serve as Chair of Australian Ethical through a time of great progress for the company and the sector," said Australian Ethical Chair Steve Gibbs.

To ensure a seamless transition, Gibbs will also retire from the Australian Ethical Foundation by March 30, 2027, and from Australian Ethical Superannuation by Dec. 31, 2027.

The company appointed Brian Bissker to its board in 2025 and added Karen Orvad in early 2026.

It is currently well advanced in the selection process to appoint two additional directors in the first half of 2027.
