- Kingsgate Consolidated restarted its Plant 1 processing circuit at the Chatree Gold Mine following remediation work.
- The successful restart lifted the total processing capacity of the gold mine back to over 4 million tonnes per annum.
- The company implemented short-term operational workarounds to restore half of the normal processing capacity of the plant.
Kingsgate Consolidated (ASX:KCN) restarted its Plant 1 circuit, lifting total capacity over 4 million tonnes per annum.
The partial restoration contrasts with previous processing disruptions caused by the unexpected failure of the primary ball mill.
The company isolated the ball mill and recommissioned a semi-autogenous grinding mill to permit continuous processing.
Operators added six tonnes of grinding media to increase throughput to approximately 130 wet tonnes per hour.
Following the announcement, the Kingsgate share price was down at $4.28.
The initiatives successfully restored 50% of the normal processing capacity of the plant.
The company continues to fast-track remediation works on the main mill, including the removal of both bearings.
