
Atlas Arteria faces potential French tax changes

Atlas Arteria (ASX:ALX) announced that the French government intends to raise tax rates on long-distance transport infrastructure operators for the 2027 draft Finance Bill.
The proposed adjustment compares to current tax settings where long-distance transport operators generate around €600 million in annual proceeds.
The French government noted its intention to increase the applicable tax rate from 4.6% to a higher rate based on company profitability, capping out at 12.2%.
Following the announcement, the Atlas Arteria share price was unchanged at $3.88.
The company noted that the draft Budget Bill will be presented on Oct. 1 before undergoing parliamentary debate over the coming months.
Atlas Arteria manages major toll road networks globally, including its French toll road operator APRR which is currently pursuing legal recourse options regarding the infrastructure tax.
