  • AML3D secured an initial production parts order valued at approximately $0.5 million to supply component parts for US Navy nuclear submarines.
  • The contract transitions key submarine components to additive manufacturing, driving commercial validation for the company's proprietary technology platform.
  • The order aligns with the company's US scale-up strategy to support long-term demand across the US Navy Submarine Industrial Base.

AML3D (ASX:AL3) secured an initial production parts order valued at approximately $0.5 million from Austal USA Advanced Technologies to manufacture components for US Navy nuclear submarines.

The agreement transitions the manufacturing of three large, high-pressure copper-nickel fluid control components from traditional fabrication methods to the company's proprietary wire-arc additive manufacturing technology.

"We have always known that our WAM technology produced parts that match and regularly exceed traditional manufacturing. We view this order for production parts from Austal USA as a strong endorsement of our WAM technology," said AML3D CEO Sean Ebert.

Payment terms stipulate that 50% of the total contract value will be paid upfront, with final delivery, testing, and commissioning expected by the end of the third quarter of FY2027.

Following the announcement the AML3D share price was unchanged at $0.14.

The company stated that the order supports its broader US expansion strategy following the deployment of 16 ARCEMY systems across the submarine defence sector to date.

Internal forecasts from the company indicate a sector requirement for up to 100 advanced additive manufacturing systems and 1,600 3D-printed components by 2030.
