Exploration company Albion Resources (ASX:ALB) has commenced a maiden 7,000-metre drilling programme at its Gidgee Gold Project in Western Australia.
The campaign follows recent surface rock-chip sampling that yielded gold assays as high as 280.3 grammes per tonne.
“Commencing our maiden drilling campaign is an exciting milestone for Albion and follows several months of work by our team to build and refine a strong portfolio of targets at Gidgee,” said Albion Resources CEO Peter Goh.
The programme comprises 6,000m of air-core drilling and 1,000m of reverse circulation drilling across priority prospects.
Following the announcement the Albion Resources share price was unchanged at $0.049.
Albion acquired the flagship project earlier this year to expand its holdings in the prospective Gum Creek Greenstone Belt.
The business also retains exploration assets across the Yandal West and Leinster mining regions in Western Australia.
