AFT Pharmaceuticals names Stuart Houliston as CFO
AFT Pharmaceuticals (ASX:AFP), New Zealand’s largest domestic pharmaceuticals firm, announced the appointment of Stuart Houliston as its new CFO, effective June 15.
The transition follows the upcoming retirement of current CFO Malcolm Tubby on May 29, with Simon Bosley stepped in to manage the role during the brief interim period.
Houliston joins the dual-listed pharmaceutical leader from Sanford, New Zealand’s largest integrated fishing and aquaculture company, which boasts a revenue of approximately NZ$500 million.
His extensive professional background also includes a tenure as an audit director at KPMG, where he managed a broad portfolio of commercial businesses. Houliston is a qualified chartered accountant and holds a Master of Science from Oxford University.
AFT Chair David Flacks expressed strong confidence in the new appointment, noting that Houliston’s financial expertise spanning both public markets and the accounting profession will critical support the company’s future strategy and growth initiatives.
Co-Founder and Managing Director Dr Hartley Atkinson echoed this optimism, highlighting a focus on scaling operations both locally and internationally.
Commenting on his new role, Houliston praised AFT’s 29-year track record of growth and its proven capability in developing medicines with global applications, adding that he looks forward to joining the executive team as the company’s market momentum continues to accelerate.
