Asian Battery Metals unveils copper-gold mineralisation at Copper Ridge prospect

Mining

Asian Battery Metals (ASX:AZ9) reported results from recent geophysical studies and scout drilling at the Copper Ridge prospect.

Detailed investigations confirm copper mineralisation extending from the surface to depth, accompanied by potential gold, as highlighted by anomalous surface assays announced earlier.

Scout drill hole CRS01A, which extends to 200.5m, revealed continuous copper mineralisation over a 174m stretch, excluding unmineralised intervals.

High-chargeability and high-magnetic anomalies noted from geophysical surveys align well with surface mineralisation, offering encouraging signs for future exploration.

"We are excited about an early indication of a prospective mineral system at Copper Ridge Cu-Au prospect. Our scout drilling effort was challenged by tough ground conditions, but intersected a great length of anomalous and mineralised copper in strongly altered metasedimentary until close to the end of the drill hole," said Managing Director Gan-Ochir Zunduisuren.

"This shows the promising copper potential in the area and encourages further exploration," Zunduisuren added.

The drillhole's substantial mineralised length supports the findings of previous surface explorations, which identified two major alteration zones containing chalcopyrite, magnetite, and pyrite.

A comprehensive geological and geophysical survey is slated for 2024 to explore Copper Ridge's Cu-Au targets further.

Detailed core logging and geochemical analyses are underway, with sample assays expected within two to four weeks.

The company plans to use this information to develop a larger scale drilling program alongside improved logistics for ongoing exploration efforts.

At the time of reporting, Asian Battery Metals' share price was $0.034.
