Researchers from Huawei’s Noah’s Ark Lab in Paris have introduced a new concept aimed at advancing artificial general intelligence (AGI) through "embodied artificial intelligence" (E-AI).
They argue that providing AI with a physical form could greatly enhance its capability to understand actions, memory, and experience, marking what they consider a crucial next step towards achieving AGI.
AGI, often referred to as human-level AI or strong AI, is defined as an AI system that can independently perform any intellectual task that a human being can, given the required resources.
The pursuit of AGI has gained momentum, with entities like OpenAI focusing their efforts solely on its development.
The emergence of generative pre-trained transformer (GPT) technology in the late 2010s significantly impacted the AGI research community.
