Woodside will cut dozens of jobs at its oil and gas operations in the Pilbara and offshore areas amid an organisational restructuring, affecting the Macedon gas plant and offshore oil vessels.

Staff were reportedly informed about the job cuts on July 9.

The cuts follow a smaller round in March and will impact several dozen of Woodside's 4,700 global employees, most of whom are in Western Australia.

A Woodside spokeswoman stated that the company routinely reviews its workforce to align with business activities and priorities while ensuring safe and reliable operations.

The Macedon plant supplies about 15% of Western Australia's gas.
