Woodside Energy achieved its first oil production from Senegal's Sangomar field, marking the country's inaugural offshore oil project.

The deepwater development has a 100,000 barrels/day capacity and includes subsea infrastructure for future phases.

The project, led by Woodside with an 82% stake, and PETROSEN with 18%, is estimated at $4.9-5.2 billion.

The crude quality, around 31 degrees API, meets demand in European and Asian markets.
