It?s been a massive week for company reports and a common theme we?re continuing to see is the financial impact of Covid-19 from many companies that posted a decline in profit.

While restrictions have eased and the world economy appears to be recovering from the impact of the pandemic ? some companies may still have an uphill battle with Covid affecting the workforce.

Treasury data released today estimates that the Australian economy lost three million working days in the first half of this year due to long Covid.

In June around 31,000 Australian workers called in sick every day because of the symptoms of the condition.

Employers have been complaining of labour shortages throughout the pandemic and it doesn?t seem like it will ease anytime soon.

Researchers are still learning who is at risk for long Covid so in the meantime all eyes will be on next week's Job summit which will aim to find consensus on Australia?s economic challenges and boost productivity.
