Waku Network has launched its Minimum Viable Product (MVP), offering a first-of-its-kind privacy-preserving denial-of-service (DoS) protection in decentralised messaging, set to support up to 80,000 users.

The network introduces message rate-limiting and zero-knowledge proofs for group membership, ensuring user privacy and censorship resistance without compromising decentralised communication.

Waku's approach includes decentralising not only peer-to-peer communication but also the routing layer, significantly enhancing privacy and scalability through sharding.

Developed as a replacement for Ethereum's Whisper, Waku's messaging protocols are blockchain agnostic, already adopted by applications like Status, Railgun, and the Graph.
