Virgin Australia's potential cabin crew strikes have been averted as the Transport Workers Union and the airline reached a new pay deal.

The three-year enterprise agreement includes 14% to 18% pay increases for cabin crew jobs.

The TWU previously threatened strike action over the perceived poverty pay and resulting fatigue issues among the workforce.

The agreement, acknowledged by the Flight Attendants Association of Australia, addresses cost of living pressures and improves working conditions.

Ground workers secured a separate deal, and negotiations now focus on a new agreement for pilots. The cabin crew agreement incorporates additional days off, recognition of unpaid standby time, and overtime pay after nine hours.
