The UwU Lend (CRYPTO:UWU) protocol has become the target of a hacker yet again, with the cumulative stolen amount now reaching $24 million across two separate incidents.
Following a second successful attack on their system, the UwU Lend team is now offering a bounty of $5 million for information leading to the identification and location of the perpetrator.
This offer came after the hacker failed to adhere to a repayment deadline set by UwU, which required the return of 80% of the stolen funds by June 12 at 5:00pm UTC.
In a direct onchain message to the hacker dated June 13, UwU expressed its intention to reward the first person to successfully identify the attacker with the substantial bounty.
The team further clarified that the $5 million reward would be paid in Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH), ensuring that the payout would occur prior to the recovery of the stolen assets or before any charges are formally pressed against the culprit.
This aggressive move by UwU Lend signifies a robust response to cyber theft, aiming to deter future attacks while attempting to recoup significant financial losses.
