The US markets were mixed at close on the midweek session as the second impeachment trial of Donald Trump begins with the Democrats now requiring at least 17 Republicans to vote for the conviction to reach the two-thirds threshold.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq closed 0.25% lower at 13,972.53 while the S&P500 also closed 0.04% lower at 3909.88. The Dow Jones Industrial Average finished the midweek session in the green, gaining 61 points to 31,437.80.
