    US markets mixed; EVgo plummeted 40% over August; Alaska Airlines dipped on guidance update

    The US markets closed mixed on Friday as the U.S. economy jobs data was released revealing just 235,000 jobs were added in August as a surge in new COVID-19 cases dramatically slowed hiring.

    The Dow Jones fell 0.21% to finish the trading day down 75 points to close at 35,369 points .

    The tech heavy NASDAQ rose 0.2% to finish the trading day up 32 points to close at 15,364 points with Amazon and Apple gaining 0.43% and 0.42% respectively.

    One bitcoin is worth US$51,900 going into the Asian trading day.

    The Australian dollar is firm against the major currencies and is buying 74.42 US cents.

    Shares in Evgo posted a 40% drop in August, its first full month of public trading. The company is America?s largest public electric vehicle fast charging network with shares plummeting over the last month after it registered to issue potential new shares through warrants and failed to provide news or guidance to excite investors in its first quarterly report on August 11.

    Alaska Airlines shares took a hit on Friday after the airline updated its third-quarter guidance as the Delta COVID-19 strain threatens to further impact the struggling aviation industry in the US. Alaska Airlines projected Q3 revenue will decrease 19%-21% compared to the same period in 2019.

    And Dyson has patented designs for robot cleaners that can climb and clean stairs, open drawers and more to interact with other Dyson home appliances.
