    US markets green; Tesla?s Autopilot function crashes; Sun Country Airlines? Wall Street debut

    The US markets closed the mid-week session higher as the Federal Reserve held interest rates steady and maintained its asset purchase programs after the two-day FOMC meeting. Most Fed officials at the meeting also expect to hold interest rates near zero until 2023.

    The Dow Jones rose 0.6% to finish the trading day up 189 points to close at 33,015 points - a record high topping 33,000 points for the first time ever.

    The tech heavy NASDAQ rose 0.4% to finish the trading day up 54 points to close at 13,525 points.

    The Australian dollar is stronger against the major currencies and is buying 78.14 US cents.

    Bitcoin is rallying again, trading at US$58,865.28 at 11am AEDT, up 4% in the last 24-hours.

    Tesla?s troubled run with its Autopilot driving mode leading to crashes continues as one of its Model Y vehicles slammed into a stationary police car in the United States overnight. The crash will reignite the Autopilot function debate as some believe it is misleading.

    Sun Country Airlines debuted on the NYSE yesterday with an IPO at US$24/share raising US$218m in the US airline industry?s first IPO since 2018. The ultra-low-cost airline soared 51% during Wednesday?s session as the travel sector shows signs of a rebound.

    And WallStreetsBets Redditors have used their strength in numbers for a good cause by taking their ?Apes Together Strong? popular saying literally and donating over US$350,000 to the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund.
