Halliburton (NYSE:HAL), a global leader in fracking services, announced today that the cybersecurity attack it suffered last month is not expected to significantly affect its financial stability or operational capabilities.

The Houston-based company stated that it continues to evaluate the full extent of the breach and has activated its cybersecurity response plan.

While the company has notified law enforcement about the incident, it has also proactively taken some systems offline as a precautionary measure.

In a statement, Halliburton confirmed that the attackers had likely extracted information from its systems.

This disclosure comes at a time when the oil industry is increasingly integrating digital solutions to enhance drilling operations.

Halliburton, a key player in this sector, provides essential services to numerous oil and natural gas enterprises worldwide.

Following the announcement, Halliburton's share price dropped over 3% to $29.88 in early trading in New York.
