The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced on Wednesday that it has initiated a preliminary evaluation into Fisker's (NYSE:FSR) 2023 Ocean model following several complaints about door latch failures.

The Office of Defects Investigation, a branch of NHTSA, has received 14 complaints that detail issues with the latch handle that prevent the doors from being opened, including the driver, front passenger, and rear doors.

This investigation highlights potential safety concerns with Fisker's 2023 Ocean vehicles, as the inability to open vehicle doors could pose significant risks in emergency situations.

The NHTSA's preliminary evaluation will examine the extent and severity of the reported issue to determine whether a more in-depth investigation is necessary.

As of now, Fisker has not provided a comment regarding the investigation.
