Russian Ambassador to China, Igor Morgulov, revealed that around 30 countries are keen to join the BRICS economic bloc, according to an article in the South China Morning Post.

This interest follows the recent inclusion of five new members in January: Egypt, Iran, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, and Ethiopia.

Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that the interest in BRICS exceeds the bloc's current capacity.

Bolivian President Luis Arce praised BRICS for contributing to a fairer, more balanced global order based on multipolarity and multilateralism.

He emphasised that BRICS economies are effectively challenging U.S. dominance.

Arce also highlighted BRICS as a beacon of hope for enhanced international cooperation and complementarity among nations.
