The Star Entertainment has condemned the actions of former CEO Robbie Cooke and chairman David Foster, calling their behaviour "deplorable" in a final effort to keep its Sydney casino license.

Bret Walker, representing Star, told an inquiry that the current board and executives would not challenge the New South Wales Independent Casino Commission again.

Walker acknowledged Cooke and Foster's actions had caused significant damage but argued they were isolated incidents unlikely to recur.

The inquiry assesses whether Star has reformed sufficiently since losing its license in 2022 due to unethical conduct and facilitating $900 million in banned transactions.

The current focus is on falsified welfare checks, improper wealth checks, and a $3.2 million loss from a faulty cash terminal.
