Tesla shares tumbled more than 12% overnight as Tesla investors hold concerns over how Elon Musk will fund his new US$44bn purchase of Twitter. Musk?s purchase will be funded by a combination of US$21bn in equity, and US$25.5bn of fully committed debt including US$12.5bn in loans against Musk?s Tesla stock.

The slump in Tesla shares takes the stock's value down 26.95% year-to-date.
