Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) is recalling its Cybertruck pickup for the fourth time in the U.S. to address issues with trim pieces and front windshield wipers.
The recalls, detailed in documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on Tuesday, impact over 11,000 trucks.
According to Tesla, the front windshield wiper motor controller is receiving excessive electrical current, which can cause the wipers to fail.
A malfunctioning wiper can significantly impair visibility, thereby increasing the risk of accidents.
However, Tesla has reported no crashes or injuries related to this issue.
The company says it will replace the wiper motor at no cost to owners, who will be informed via letter on August 18.
The second recall pertains to a trim piece along the truck bed, which can come loose and potentially fly off, posing a danger to other motorists.
Tesla indicated that the trim piece, attached with adhesive, may not have been properly installed at the factory.
The company will rework or replace the trim piece to ensure it remains securely attached. Affected owners will also be notified by letter on August 18.
Since its launch on November 30, the stainless steel-clad Cybertruck has been recalled four times.
