The Solana Foundation has recently addressed the contentious issue of offensive meme coins circulating on its blockchain.

Austin Federa, the foundation's head of strategy, advocates for maintaining Solana's (CRYPTO:SOL) core infrastructure as permissionless.

He suggests that the responsibility of filtering out these offensive assets should fall to the individual applications built on the Solana network, rather than the network itself enforcing censorship.

This stance emphasises the foundation's commitment to preserving the open and decentralised nature of the Solana blockchain, while also acknowledging the challenges posed by controversial content.
