The Solana Foundation expelled several validator operators from its delegation program due to their involvement in "sandwich attacks," a predatory trading practice undermining network integrity.

This move highlights rising concerns over network governance and ethical validator operations, further intensifying the rivalry between Solana (CRYPTO:SOL) and Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH).

Tim Garcia from the Foundation confirmed the expulsions and ongoing enforcement against malicious operators.

Mert Mumtaz of Helius Labs explained that these attacks exploit transaction ordering to disadvantage retail investors, emphasising Solana's commitment to protecting its users.

Ethereum community members, like investor Ryan Berckmans, criticised Solana's approach, while Solana defenders highlighted the financial and operational differences between the two networks, underscoring the broader debate over decentralised network governance.
