The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has been hosting a number of meetings with spot bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) providers concerning their applications.

Firms, including Blackrock, who is the largest asset manager in the world, have had several interactions with the SEC.

The increased frequency of these meetings has led some analysts to comment that the SEC is displaying a level of activity comparable to that of ‘Santa’s elves’.
