Slowmist, in partnership with Imtoken, has uncovered a new crypto scam targeting users through falsified USDT (CRYPTO:USDT) balances in their wallets, manipulated via Ethereum RPC.

Scammers coerce victims into altering their Ethereum RPC URL, leading them to believe they have received USDT funds, only to find their wallets empty when attempting transactions.

This deceptive tactic involves gaining victims' trust with small transfers before manipulating account balances and contract information, posing serious risks to unsuspecting users.

The scam's complexity extends beyond individual instances and has been associated with broader fraudulent activities, underscoring the need for heightened vigilance within the crypto community.
