Saturn Metals (ASX:STN) has reported thick, high-grade intercepts from surface from the Apollo Hill gold deposit in WA, following a 5,000m RC grade control drilling program at its planned bulk sample pit location.

    Saturn Metals highlighted "impressive" intersections from surface including: 55m @ 2.12g/t AU from 0m, including: 19m @ 5.59g/t Au from 0m, including: 10m @ 10.40g/t Au from 6m.

The company says the results provide further definition around some of the deposits' higher grade architecture, confirmed the target area as a suitable location for a low strip bulk sample pit, and highlighted the potential for payable ores at surface across the deposit.

It also says the results will ultimately be used in future upgrades to Apollo Hill's growing Mineral Resource, which is currently 76.6 Mt @ 0.6g/t AU for 1,469,000 oz, with the next upgrade due mid-year.
