Santos will reduce its workforce by 200 positions after reviewing its assets in Australia and abroad, particularly in Western Australia, Northern Territory, and Timor-Leste.

The company cited the closure of late-life assets and delays in project approvals, leading to a shift towards decommissioning activities and sequenced work programs.

Most of the job cuts are in Perth, Western Australia.
