Santander, a global banking giant, has announced the launch of cryptocurrency trading services in Brazil through its investment unit, Toro (CRYPTO:TORO).

Initially, the service will be available to a select group of customers with the potential for a broader rollout in the future.

This move follows three years of internal studies and aligns Santander with other Brazilian banks like Nubank and Itau Unibanco that already offer crypto trading.

The initial offering will include Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) and Ether (CRYPTO:ETH).

Toro's CEO, Joao Resende, mentioned plans to expand the crypto services to more customers and potentially to other Santander units.

The rollout was delayed to ensure robust security and educational support for users.
