The Russian State Duma is currently deliberating on legislation concerning cryptocurrency mining and sales, which is not expected to be approved until fall.

The bill aims to legalise crypto mining and permit the sale of mined digital currency, emphasising that cryptocurrencies cannot yet be used for settlements within Russia.

If passed, the law would regulate the disposal of digital currencies obtained through mining, ensuring transactions do not utilise Russian information infrastructure.

It also proposes definitions for cryptocurrency mining and mining pools, while prohibiting crypto advertising across Russia.
