The presence of bots in online games, often seen as a negative aspect, is being reframed by Pixels CEO Luke Barwikowski as an indicator of a game's popularity and engagement.

Barwikowski suggests that a game devoid of bots might imply a lack of interest or relevance in the gaming community, challenging the conventional disdain for bots.

He said that bots can offer certain advantages, such as reducing wait times and ensuring the availability of opponents, enhancing the gaming experience.

However, the prevalence of bots in the gaming industry is staggering, with studies showing that about 40% of GameFi users are bots, and in some games, the percentage is significantly higher.
