RareX Limited has announced an update on its product strategy for the Cummins Range Rare Earths and Phosphate Project in Western Australia.

The company is developing a dual-mineral concentrate that contains both lithium-ferro-phosphate-suitable phosphate and EV magnet-suitable rare earths, with potential to supply significant quantities of these materials to automotive manufacturers for at least 15 years.

The process proposal involves a simple dilute phosphoric acid leach and flotation process.

Further assessments to process the leach liquor into high-purity phosphoric acid and to upgrade the leach residue into a more valuable rare earth (RE) concentrate are ongoing.

The company expects product and derivative samples to be available within two months.
