In a remarkable event within the Bitcoin ecosystem, an "epic sat" - a satoshi from the fourth Bitcoin halving block mined on April 20, has been auctioned for 33.3 Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC), roughly equivalent to $2.13 million.

This sale highlights the unique "collectible value" some satoshis possess, distinct from their usual worth of $0.00065.

The transaction took place on the CoinEx Global cryptocurrency exchange on April 25, just five days after the satoshi was mined by Bitcoin mining pool viaBTC at block 840,000.

The auction attracted significant interest, launching on April 22 and registering 34 bids before it concluded.

The winning bid granted the bidder rights to a satoshi bearing the significant identifier "sat number 1,968,750,000,000,000."

The fierce competition and high final bid underscore the intrinsic and perceived value of certain satoshis within the cryptocurrency community, reflecting both sentiment and the speculative nature that surrounds unique digital assets in the blockchain space.
